Ajay Jegadeesan

Mr. Jegadeesan is a senior vice president in Oaktree’s Opportunities group in Houston. In this role, he is responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and executing investments in the energy sector, with a focus on oil and gas. Prior to joining the firm in 2018, he served as a petroleum engineer at W.D. Von Gonten and Company, advising capital providers and energy companies on technical and commercial aspects of upstream transactions. Earlier in his career, he held leadership, exploration, asset development, and operational roles at Nutech Energy Alliance and Schlumberger Technology Corporation (SLB). Mr. Jegadeesan currently serves on the boards of Battalion Oil Corporation (NYSE: BATL) and Sierra Energy Holdings and previously served on the board of PureWest Energy. He holds an M.Sc. degree in chemical engineering from Oklahoma State University and an M.Sc. degree in petroleum engineering from the University of Houston.
