Angel Zhu

Ms. Zhu is a vice president in the Insurance Solutions group, where she develops customized investment solutions for insurers, leveraging Oaktree’s investment strategies.  Prior to joining the firm in 2024, she was a senior director in the Client Solutions group at Sun Life Capital Management.  There, she was responsible for creating investment solutions that met the capital and regulatory requirements of insurance companies in the U.S., Bermuda, and Canada, among others.  Ms. Zhu serves on the American Academy of Actuaries Risk-Based Capital Working Group, advising on NAIC regulations related to CLO and other structured securities.  Before her tenure at Sun Life Capital Management, she led capital management for the life insurance business at Prudential and began her career at Conning, working with life and health insurance clients.  Ms. Zhu holds an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business and a B.S.B.A. from Drake University.  She is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and is fluent in Mandarin Chinese.
