Gregory Halagan, CFA, CAIA

Mr. Halagan is a managing director and Global Head of Insurance Solutions.  He is primarily responsible for developing and managing the insurance client base globally.  Prior to joining Oaktree in 2023, Mr. Halagan was partner and Co-Head of the U.S. Insurance Investments group at Mercer Investments.  There, he co-led the firm’s insurance investment consulting practice for the region which advised insurers across all major liability types on investment strategy, asset allocation, and manager selection.  Prior thereto, Mr. Halagan was a principal and senior consultant at Pavilion Advisory Group where he piloted the growth of the insurance consulting practice.  Previously, he was a senior research associate in the Global Fixed Income group at Slocum & Associates.  Mr. Halagan currently serves on the board of directors of the Citizens League.  He received an M.B.A. (with honors) from the University of Chicago and a B.A. in finance and accounting from the University of St. Thomas.  Mr. Halagan is CFA and CAIA charterholder.
