John Ware, CFA

Mr. Ware is a senior vice president for Oaktree’s Product Strategy team.  In this role, he is responsible for various aspects of product marketing, client relations, and product management for the firm's private credit platform in EMEA.  Prior to joining the firm in 2025, Mr. Ware served as a managing director and Head of Business Development at Chenavari Investment Management where he led fundraising efforts for structured credit, leveraged finance, asset-backed credit, real estate, and impact debt products.  Prior thereto, he was a senior product specialist at HSBC Alternative Investments, where he coordinated global sales campaigns for hedge funds and private credit funds.  His previous roles include BlackRock, Barclays, and Lehman Brothers.  Mr. Ware earned his B.Sc. in economics and politics from University of London, Royal Holloway and his M.A. in global diplomacy from University of London, SOAS.  He is a CFA charterholder.
