Naveed Asem
Managing Director and Chief Technology Officer
Mr. Asem is Oaktree’s Chief Technology Officer. He joined the firm in 2025 with over 25 years of experience transforming Fintech and SaaS companies by operationalizing tech and data strategies and delivering AI-infused solutions at scale. Prior to Oaktree, he was WEX’s Head of Data and AI Tech Transformation where he was responsible for building modern AI and tech solutions for customers, partners, and product and commercial teams at the firm. Before that, Mr. Asem was the Head of Global Analytics & Insights at Avalara, where he led the strategy and execution of data, analytics, and insights. Previous experience also includes roles as Chief Development Officer at Donnelley Financial Solutions, Slalom, Protiviti and CGI. Mr. Asem earned an M.S. in analytics & AI from Northwestern University and a B.S. in computer engineering from the University of Alabama. He currently teaches at Northwestern University.
