Darren Tangen

Mr. Tangen is a managing director and Head of Real Estate Business Development where he focuses on executing new business strategies, capital raising activities and other innovations to accelerate growth.  Prior to joining the firm in 2023, he served in various executive and board roles within the real estate and real estate investment management industries.  Most notably, this work experience included 18 years at Colony Capital where he last held the positions of President and Chief Financial Officer.  Mr. Tangen was responsible for leading the establishment and growth of several real estate platform strategies at Colony that achieved meaningful scale via both public and private capital markets and which culminated in successful exits.  Earlier in his career, Mr. Tangen worked in the Investment Banking division at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette (subsequently acquired by Credit Suisse First Boston) and the Investment division at Colliers International.  He received an M.B.A. from The Wharton School where he was recognized as a Palmer Scholar and a Bachelor of Commerce from McGill University.
