Jay Ghiya

Mr. Ghiya serves as Oaktree’s Chief Operating Officer with oversight of the day-to-day management of the firm. Prior to assuming this role in 2026, he was responsible for the firm’s Data, Technology, Investment Operations, Risk and Reporting, and Tax functions. Mr. Ghiya joined Oaktree in 2008 from Munger, Tolles & Olson LLP, where he served as a transactional attorney with a practice focused on structuring joint ventures, investment funds, mergers and acquisitions, and financing transactions. Mr. Ghiya holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from University of California, Riverside, and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Southern California Law School.
