Kimberly Backman

Ms. Backman is a managing director and Head of Internal Audit and Operational Risk Management.  She joined Oaktree in 2016 from Deutsche Bank, where she was most recently a managing director and Head of Audit for Compliance, Legal and Human Resources.  In her twenty-plus years at Deutsche Bank, Ms. Backman served in various roles including principal audit manager for Asset Management and the global head of Quality Assurance & Methodology.  Prior thereto, she was an assistant director and team leader in Internal Audit at Barclays Bank.  Ms. Backman began her career at KPMG, where she was a staff auditor and supervising senior.  She received a Bachelor’s degree from Ithaca College with a major in accounting and a minor in economics.
