Nael Khatoun

Mr. Khatoun is a portfolio manager within Oaktree’s European Private Debt strategy. He is also a managing director within the Global Private Debt strategy where he serves on the investment committee for its Direct Lending platform. Mr. Khatoun’s primary responsibilities include portfolio construction, oversight of the team’s investment professionals and overall management of the strategies. He joined Oaktree in 2005 as a founding member of the European Principal Group before establishing the European Private Debt strategy as a founding member in 2013. Prior thereto, Mr. Khatoun spent three years as a transaction executive at Terra Firma Capital Partners where he was responsible for deal origination, market analysis, structuring, due diligence, and legal documentation. Before that, he spent three years in the Investment Banking division of Goldman Sachs International. Mr. Khatoun received a B.A. degree with honors in philosophy, politics and economics from the University of Oxford. He is fluent in French and Arabic.
