
Rich Goldstein
Managing Director
Mr. Goldstein is an investment professional in the Special Situations Group, for which he plays an active role on its investment and valuation committees and in managing the cash and liquidity for many of its funds and accounts. Mr. Goldstein formerly headed the SSG’s capital markets function, and he has made numerous investments in industries such as specialty and food retail, floor coverings, child care and rail services. He joined Oaktree from TCW in 1995. At TCW, Mr. Goldstein was an assistant vice president in the TCW Special Credits Group. Prior thereto, he was an associate in the Corporate Finance department of Jefferies & Company, Inc., a senior consultant with Deloitte & Touche Management Consulting and a financial analyst in the Corporate Finance and Mergers and Acquisitions departments of Merrill Lynch. Mr. Goldstein graduated summa cum laude from the University of California, Los Angeles, where he received a B.A. degree in economics/business and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. Mr. Goldstein also received an M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, where he was an Arjay Miller Scholar. He has served as a member of the board of directors of numerous companies in a broad range of industries.
