Rachel Chao
General Manager, Managing Director and Head of APAC Marketing
Ms. Chao is the General Manager of Oaktree Overseas Investment Fund Management (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., Managing Director and Head of APAC Marketing at Oaktree Capital (Hong Kong) Limited. Ms. Chao is the Asia Chair of Oaktree Women’s Leadership Council and the Asia Co-Chair of Oaktree Diversity and Inclusion Council. Ms. Chao joined Oaktree in 2011 from Adveq, where she was a vice president responsible for strategic investment initiatives and private equity funds investments in China. Prior to Adveq, she worked as an investment analyst at Australia Commonwealth Superannuation Corporation in Sydney, investing in Private Equity, Infrastructure and Real Estate funds globally. Ms. Chao began her career as an investment banking analyst at Citigroup in Hong Kong and Shanghai. She received a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Melbourne and a Master of Applied Finance degree from Monash University in Australia. She is a Certified Public Accountant in Australia. Ms. Chao is fluent in Mandarin.
